HOLY WEEK ANNOUNCEMENT

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

This year the start of Holy Week finds the whole country in a state of turmoil and uncertainty. Like all Serbian Orthodox Church Parishes world wide the Parish of St. Andrew covering Bedford, Corby, Northampton, Letchworth and Peterborough, is operating under very limiting pressures.

The Parish Church Committee would like to reiterate to all parish members that in line with the government guidence / law with respect to the Covid 19 virus, all church liturgies planned for this period are suspended until further notice.

We understand that many of you will have been fasting with view to receiving Holy Communion this week and that even more of you were expecting to bring your decorated Easter eggs to church to be blessed on Sunday, but all of these plans now have to be cancelled.

Our parish priest the very Rev. Radmilo Stokic will be releasing information during the week via the parish website and Facebook page with regard to these matters, and what we as parishioners can do for ourselves at home. If you have other or more in depth concerns please contact him on 07483 308104.

There will be live streaming of closed church services from London and Birmingham as well as Belgrade during the course of this week and beyond and we will endeavour to bring you details of how you can access these on our parish website and facebook page.

We trust and pray that in the near future we will be able to announce the re activation of church life in our parish and urge all parishioners in the meantime to treat their homes as their churches and pray for that day to come soon.

The Parish Church Committee
The Parish of St. Andrew
